Booking a ride with Lithium means discarding rigid schedules and fixed scripts. "Ride the Mountains" operates without a strict itinerary; instead, we map our route through the Eastern Hills based entirely on your available time, physical condition, and riding experience. Because mountain weather is unpredictable, trail conditions change constantly—meaning we double-check every logistical detail prior to departure to tailor the day to your specific riding style.

We operate primarily in the raw terrain hidden behind the eastern mountains, utilizing major regional landmarks you can look up: the high-altitude roads of La Calera and Choachí, the rugged dirt and mud trails of the El Verjón páramo, and the towering panoramic vantage point of the Guadalupe Sanctuary. While the exact path adapts to the day's conditions, the core pillars of the experience never change: you will tackle a powered climb, explore unique high-altitude ecosystems, ride rugged backroads, stop for an authentic local snack, and circle straight back to base.

The Urban Exit

Meet at the Teusaquillo base. We do a quick technical briefing, mount up, and navigate the short urban stretch to reach the edge of the eastern mountains.

The Ascent

We start the powered climb out of the city limits, targeting major ascents like Patios, the Guadalupe Sanctuary, or El Verjón. The electric motors handle the heavy gradients while the air gets crisper and the city drops away.

High Altitude Exploration

We drop off the main roads and hit the dirt. We push into the high-altitude páramo, riding through mud, gravel, and frailejones to reach hidden vantage points located entirely behind the main ridge.

Refuel & Descent

We pull over at a traditional cyclist outpost—such as La Calera market, Patios, or El Marqués del Once—for a quick energy recharge. We finish with a fast, scenic descent back down into the city grid.

Frequently asked questions

How many people can join the tour?

These are private, exclusive experiences designed for 1 to 2 riders maximum. We do not group you with strangers.

How far in advance do I need to book?

We require at least 24 hours' notice to ensure the Specialized Turbo Levo e-bikes are fully prepped, charged, and logistical arrangements are locked in.

How physically demanding is the tour?

You need basic cycling skills and balance, but the e-bike motors neutralize the brutal ascents. The equipment handles the heavy physical strain of the high altitude, allowing you to focus on the ride and the terrain.

How do I pay?

You can book and pay securely through platforms like Viator and Airbnb Experiences, or pay via direct transfer/credit card if booking directly with us.

Can I customize the tour in advance or on the day?

Yes. The route, difficulty, and pace are fully adaptable to your skill level. We can adjust the specific paths on the day of the ride depending on your preferences, fatigue levels, and the weather.

Can you pick me up at my hotel?

Yes. Door-to-step delivery and pickup of the e-bikes at your hotel is available as an optional upgrade. Otherwise, the fixed meeting point is our base in Teusaquillo.

Is the area safe?

Yes. You are riding alongside a certified professional guide with over a decade of local experience. We utilize vetted trails, secure off-grid routes, and established cyclist hubs that are heavily transited by the local athletic community.

Does the tour end where it starts?

Yes. The route loops back to the starting point in Teusaquillo, or back to your hotel if you opted for the delivery upgrade.
